Who can we advise?
We provide assistance to our members – subject to the limitations set out in Section 4(11) of the Tax Advisers Act (StBerG) – if they
- receive income from employment or other income from recurring payments (Section 22(1) of the Income Tax Act (EStG))
- income from maintenance payments (Section 22(1a) of the Income Tax Act – EStG) or
- income from benefits under pension schemes, pension funds, pension schemes and direct insurance policies (Section 22(5) of the Income Tax Act – EStG)
Our services also include income from other sources within the meaning of Section 4(11), first sentence, point (c) of the Tax Advisers Act (StBerG). Good news: The thresholds of 18,000 and 36,000 euros will be abolished on 1 September 2026. From that date onwards, income tax advice associations will be authorised to provide advice even where income is higher, including for past periods.
⚠️ Unfortunately, as a payroll tax assistance association, we are not permitted to provide advice on income from commercial activities, self-employment (including freelancers, small businesses, etc.), agriculture and forestry, or income subject to VAT.
